I had the pleasure of being introduced to Grant and the Conduit Team for the first time in 2015 when we were looking for someone to assist us with the design of our new offices in Cape Town.
As a company, we subscribe to the ethos of promoting productivity by involving ourselves in employee happiness. Our industry is characterised by fierce competition for talent and cultivating an environment that supports creativity, collaboration and flexible working practices is both a critical component of our employee value proposition as well as a source of competitive advantage.
Grant spent a lot of time getting to understand us as a business and from the first moment I saw his design concepts I knew that he “got it”. Our brief was complex with some inherent contradictions between the aspirational and practical aspects that we needed to reconcile in the final design. Grant was particularly adept at navigating us through these, producing something that was both visually stunning and very practical, all the while keeping to budgetary constraints.
In addition to the design work, Conduit Interior were contracted to project manage the office build with an extremely tight timeline and once again I have nothing but high praise for the professionalism they displayed. As things started to take shape there were many instances where we changed our minds or developed new ideas and working with Grant and the team to incorporate these was a genuine pleasure. I was incredibly impressed by the creativity the team showed in finding practical solutions to the myriad challenges that a project like this throws up as well as their wealth of knowledge and experience across all the various trades involved; I always felt like we were in very capable hands.
Ultimately the finished product speaks for itself and is a far better testament than I could ever write. Conduit have delivered something truly exceptional – a vibrant, contemporary showpiece as well as a genuine source of improved workforce productivity. Their passion, creativity and dedication made all the difference for us and I would not hesitate to recommend them for any project large or small.
From our initial meeting with Grant Johnson of Conduit Interior, I knew we had found an interior specialist who would immerse himself in our brand and strive to create a space for us that felt like home. Over the course of our office project, we watched our two-dimensional brand being transformed into a three-dimensional space. Grant spent energy and attention getting to know us as a team and the qualities that our brand stands for, ultimately creating a space that truly embodies who we are and what we do. Grant managed expectations and challenges with absolute professionalism and had a wonderfully collaborative approach with our operational team. It was a pleasure working with Conduit Interior from concept to completion and we proudly have an office space that inspires us to come to work every day.
Grant is highly skilled in his field, professional in his conduct and a pleasure to work with on projects. The interiors are extremely well received by both our external customers as well as international colleagues. It gives Zurich an interior which we are very proud of and provides an attractive and stimulating work environment to our staff.
Working with Grant over the past few years has been an absolute pleasure from project conceptualization up until our final handovers. He has an uncanny ability to conceptualize space and maximize the utilization thereof. His project management skills are on point and at all times the client is fully aware of the project progress, current and potential stumbling blocks as well as adhering to the budgeting framework. His creativity on our projects has had no bounds from spatial layout, colour choices, furniture and fittings and fine details. Grant delivers a high quality product and I would most definitely work with him in the future.
Stumbling across Grant was the best happening of 2016. A site unseen by Grant, just a plan started the project, then the info started streaming in with photo like visuals that were so up my street it was uncanny! Every detail had been thought through, him being in Cape Town and London at one point was no issue. The end result is an awesome work space with a new upbeat feeling in the office and work spaces that are private, fun, exclusive and just bloody beautiful! Well Done Grant, thanks for the influence you have had on our working environment we are loving it and am sure we will for many a year to come.
The combination of creativity, proactive attitude, and the overall concept meant that Conduit Interior were the clear choice for our project. From the moment the project began, they exhibited a wealth of knowledge, and exceptional organisational skills and professionalism.
In addition, with any such large scale project there are unforeseen changes and obstacles, and all of these were met with understanding and a clear plan to adapt accordingly.
What made the job particularly challenging, was that the space was only very industrial low spec warehousing to start with. Our requirements however, was for an upmarket outcome. We can say that our challenging project has been completed in great style, on a fairly tight budget. Certainly well below the budgets quoted by other large design companies in the market. Much more than we expected was achieved and delivered on, and always with great professionalism, dedication and attention to details. Further, the total costs amazingly came in within budget.
Grant has a quiet assured approach from the conceptualising of a project and the timeous conclusion thereof. He works sympathetically within the customer brief and budget while directing it into best practices (in spite of budget constraints). Our project’s official opening was host to the top global executives in Kerry (the largest food ingredients business in the world) as well as the Irish Ambassador, and has received considerable praise within Kerry as a result.
