While I had anticipated the renovation of Sedgwick House after 2 decades of neglect and of a building dating back to 1890 would be tricky, it turned out to be much more complex. Throughout the 18-month journey encountering many fresh challenges Grant, Ruta, Marcelle and the Conduit team remained extraordinarily professional and focused on the project. Every meticulous detail from the architectural drawings of the entire building, volumes of joinery specs across 4 floors, the management of a vast array of sub-contractors to the redesign and refresh of our firm’s logo. After having worked many years with Grant and the Conduit team on smaller projects, he was tasked with transforming our new head office into a space that promoted productivity as well as enjoyment.
The existing space we received was extremely mundane and did not in any way promote any productivity or have natural light. Sticking to a tight budget, Grant and Kriska transformed these existing offices into an absolutely amazing space which mirrors our culture and image.
Even through the Covid-19 lockdown period, Conduit managed to meet the deadlines and always kept us in the loop as to the progress of the transformation. I had the pleasure of being introduced to Grant and the Conduit Team for the first time in 2015 when we were looking for someone to assist us with the design of our new offices in Cape Town.
